Bingo
Bingo is held every Tuesday at 6 p.m. at the Gaston County Senior Center.
Old friends are invited to play bingo, canasta, Scrabble, Boggle, poker, Jenga, checkers, ping-pong and more. Or bring your favorite game and teach the group. No partners are required, and admission is free. Prizes are also awarded.
The Gaston County Senior Center is located at 1303 Dallas-Cherryville Highway.

Engagement
Greg and Marie Hamrick of Belmont announce the engagement of their daughter Alice Marie Hamrick to Joshua William Porter.
Alice is the granddaughter of Rebecca Hollowell Hamrick of Shelby and the late Alger Vason Hamrick Jr.; Bill and Geneva Hart of Asheville; the late Carroll Andrew Arrowood; and the late Morris Gilliam Hogan.
She is a graduate student at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, finishing her master’s degree in elementary education.
Josh is the son of William and Patricia Porter of Advance, N.C., and is a graduate student at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro finishing, his master’s degree in exercise and sports science with a concentration in athletic training.
He is the grandson of Williams S. Porter of Huntsville, Alabama, and the late Alice Shelton Porter; and of Mr. and Mrs. Williams James McCluskey of Corinth, Mississippi.
The wedding is planned for June 21, 2008 at First Presbyterian Church in Greensboro.
